Dear Potential Volunteer,

Welcome and thank you for considering to minister with us at RaphaEl Medical Missions. It is important that you understand about the ministry and what is expected from you as you serve with us. Therefore, this letter will explain who we are, our focus, and what you can expect while on the mission. After reading this letter I hope you still will come and minister with us to a hurting world.

We are a Christian organization that strives to determine the will of God for us and then follow that leading. We are part of Bridge for Peace in Wading River, NY. Our desire is to glorify God in all we do and with the help of the Holy Spirit to be obedient to the Word of God, the Bible. The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Messiah for the world and that He asks us to share that truth with all people. Therefore, as we minister using our gifts in the medical arts we will also be looking to share our faith with those whom we come in contact. Also, our conduct will always attempt to mirror the teachings of Christ with one of the most important teaching being to love your neighbor as yourself.

We do understand that you may not share the same faith as regarding the diety of the Messiah, Jesus. However, we do expect that everyone who travels with the team respect our position and conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. Please read the Conduct Contract that must be signed by all members of the team. You can expect that the team leadership will be mentioning God in conversations with the group. Also, every morning there will be a time of prayer and a discussion of the day’s plan . If you feel that you will be offended by such conversation and be unable to properly perform your job then please reconsider your involvement in this trip.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I truly hope that you will be able to come with us to serve those less fortunate than ourselves.

God Bless,

Scott Silverberg, M.D.
