Rome Prayer Walk
To pray for priests, religious, students
In 1998, Ed and Annette Eckart, co-founders of Bridge for Peace, prayer walked Vatican City for one week praying for priests, students, teachers and leaders in Rome. From the center of Catholicism, they interceded for all priests.
The seeds to begin the prayer movement were sown in 1996 by Fr. Victor Darlington, a Nigerian student in Rome. He met Ed and Annette while serving in a Long Island parish. He shared that cultural differences, language challenges, financial difficulties and pressures of studies severely discouraged some priests. Ed and Annette began the Prayer Walk in Rome to intercede for them.
Since February 1998, over 20,000 people have committed to pray during the Rome Prayer Walk.
The Rome Prayer Walk received the bishop’s blessing and was recognized at the Papal Audience.
2017 Marks 20 years of the Prayer Walk in Rome. Thank you for participating in the Prayer Walk with your intercession and financial support.
